    Application Support Officer

    British Gymnastics is the UK Governing Body for gymnastics.     Summary
    The purpose of this role is to take responsibility of the help desk system to ensure SLAs are being met, to provide management with reports and analysis of the data and to recommend improvements to the applications to increase the quality of the IT department support service.

    The Role
    The main responsibilities of the role are:
    • Track down issues caused by both software errors and data inconsistencies in order to identify the cause of any reported issues.
    • Implement fixes, test and deploy in line with departmental procedures including using version control where appropriate
    • Recommend long term solutions to reduce the occurrence of future errors.
    • To set, review and report on SLAs within the helpdesk system.
    • Ensure any outstanding information is collected and users kept up to date with progress on any issues raised.
    • Work with business analyst to ensure test, stage and live environments meet the needs of the development team.
    • Produce regular reports using data within the helpdesk system.
    • Analyze the data and make recommendations based on the insight gathered in order to improve the service that the IT department provides across the organisation.

    The Person
    The ideal individual will have/be able to demonstrate:
    • Expert knowledge and experience of using a wide range of web based technologies such as Web services, xml, json etc.
    • Knowledge and experience of using a number of programming languages such as PHP, C#, Perl.
    • Knowledge of SQL including stored procedures and triggers
    • Knowledge of underlying platforms such as apache, nginx, mono and docker.
    • Experience of linux and windows web servers.
    • Knowledge and experience of version control software (git)
    • Experience of running reports and analysing data
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues/people at all levels
    • Excellent planning, prioritising & organisational skills
    • Ability to work in a team and on own initiative

    We are seeking dedicated and committed high performance Women’s Artistic Coaches to work nationally under the direction of Head National Coach Amanda Reddin.

    Following the historic team Bronze Medal for the women’s team in the 2015 World Championships in Glasgow, we are looking to build on this success by strengthening our program through the recruitment of specialist coaches with international experience. These National Coaches will assist our UK wide network of high performance clubs that produce talented athletes for national squads and teams.

    National Coach

    The overall purpose of this role is to develop and maintain an international level of Women’s Artistic gymnastics in the UK through working with the WAG Head National Coach and existing National Coaches to deliver the relevant performance plan; develop talent; provide technical and practical guidance to gymnasts and coaches and contribute to the legacy programme.

    The overall purpose of this role is to provide leadership for the Home Nation Development Squad, including providing direct support and national expertise throughout the Talent Pathway at a regional and Home Nation level. This is an exciting role as you will be involved in supporting and developing the gymnasts of the future as they move through the pathway and take their steps onto the Elite platform.

    The overall purpose of this role is to provide choreography and artistry direction throughout all National Squads for floor and beam. The role operates in partnership with the Head National Coach and is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the British high performance system as a whole.

    The Role
    The main responsibilities of the role are:

    • Developing and implementing the Workforce Licence

    The Person

    The Education Department are now looking for a Judge Education Coordinator to coordinate a national judge education programme that provides sufficient judge education opportunities at all levels to meet the needs of the national and regional competition education programmes.

    The Role
    The main responsibilities of the role are:
    • Consulting with National Judge Education Panel (NJEP) and regional colleagues to identify current and future need / demand, to include consideration of competition calendars and suitable course placement
    • Planning, organising and advertising national level courses in line with identified requirements, to include: sourcing dates, venues, accommodation, tutors, resources etc. in line with programme requirements
    • Monitoring trends and patterns in learner success rates, including monitoring courses through to award, issuing certificates and maintaining accurate member records
    • Communicating with NJEP and Education Managers to plan annual meeting programme; draft meeting agendas and circulate meeting minutes
    • Devising a holistic approach to the annual planning of an effective programme of judge education for each region and discipline in conjunction with WDCs
    • Supporting colleagues, training and sharing knowledge/expertise, working as part of a team to resolve difficult situations, where required/appropriate
