    The position of Finance & Fundraising Director will play a crucial part of the new Board and is one of the appointed positions, therefore applicants do not need to be a member of STS and selection will be made by a committee. The role will provide strategic leadership over the company’s financial affairs, ensuring the integrity of financial information presented to the Board and, where necessary, external parties such as investors or financial institutions. The role will also ensure that the Board fulfils its financial responsibilities and works with staff to set and monitor budgets.

    Organisational Structure

    The Finance & Fundraising Director is an Officer of the Board and a Non-Executive Director, appointed in accordance with the Articles of Association and with direct responsibility for all finances of STS.

    Key Responsibilities
    •Take the strategic lead on ensuring accounting and auditing systems are robust, secure and fit for purpose
    •Work with staff to prepare budgets and present accurate financial information at each Board meeting
    •Support the Business Vice Chair in leading the Business Management Group
    •Advise on company policies regarding capital requirements, debt and taxation
    •Work with the company’s appointed accountants in preparing the annual accounts
    •Ensure that all regulatory requirements of statutory bodies are met regarding the company’s financial affairs
    •Understand the views of the membership directly and through fellow directors and staff
    •Complete any additional projects as requested by the Chair

    Authorities & Limitations

    As outlined fully in the STS Business Strategies document and other policies approved by the STS Board.

    Term of Office

    All directors, excluding the Chair, are appointed for terms of 3 years. At the end of the term each Director must be re-appointed to the Board, albeit with the possibility to stand for a different role. Directors may only serve a maximum of 3 consecutive terms (9 years) on the Board regardless of how many different roles they have held during this time. Only if a Director is appointed as Chair may they serve longer than 9 consecutive years on the Board.

    Expenses

    The position of Finance & Fundraising Director, as with all other Non-Executive Directors, is unpaid. All reasonable out-of-pocket expense incurred on STS business will be reimbursed.

    Main Role Requirements

    Knowledge & Experience:
    •Experience of financial management and preparing financial reports
    •Experience of working on or with a Board or management committee

    Skills:
    •Willingness to participate in the governance of the company and the Board
    •Some understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and need to respect confidences
    •Working knowledge of financial systems for recording and reporting
    •Qualified member of an accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification

    SHOTGUN PERFORMANCE COACH

    The sportscotland institute of sport is working with Scottish Target Shooting Performance Programme and is currently looking to engage World Class Shotgun Performance Coaches (Trap, Double Trap and Skeet) to train Scottish athletes in their preparations to compete successfully at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and to gain selection to British Shooting teams. The Coaches will deliver coaching to key athletes in a training environment and also at competitions around the world as they prepare for the Games.

    ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
    • An internationally recognised coaching qualification e.g ISSF and/or a proven track record of coaching and improving performance athletes.

    • The ability to lead and deliver quality practice to the Scottish athletes.

    • Ability to communicate effectively.

    • Experience of selecting athletes for teams and competitions.

    • Passion for the sport and for Scottish success.

    NOTES:
    • This Contract for Services role is available until 31 March 2017 and will be reviewed thereafter with a view to extension through to 30 April 2018 subject to agreement.

    • Requires up to 50 days per year which will be paid at a daily rate of £170. Reasonable travelling and other expenses will be paid in line with sportscotland’s Expenses Policy.

    Are you a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for delivering great events? We are looking for someone who is hard-working to join our team to oversee and co-ordinate a busy annual event calendar in the sports world.

    The Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA) is the National Governing Body for clay target shooting in England. With ‘growth’ at the heart of everything we do, our ambitions mean that the event calendar is flourishing and there is an increased requirement for closer relationships with our ‘Business Members’.

    We are looking for a dynamic and determined individual who can hit the ground running, getting involved with all aspects of sports life. Our events range from major exhibitions and shooting championships to our annual Awards Dinner and closed events for members. They all require an integrated approach across departments to ensure success, so a dynamic team player with great negotiation skills will thrive in this role.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Manage the end-to-end process for all events – external, exhibitions, and those hosted by CPSA – with the aim of driving up membership and enhancing business relationships
    • Maintain successful events within defined budgets
    • Responsible for all administration associated with our events and programmes
    • Responsible for the operational delivery of a portfolio of events. Managing the logistical planning and ensuring high quality engagement and exceptional experience are achieved for each event.
    • Attend and manage the events as well as set up and break down
    • Assemble all event collateral including writing content to promote the events
    • Planning and assisting in carrying out email marketing and social media campaigns related to events
    • Identify possible venues and assist with their selection
    • Liaise with venues to ensure all our requirements are met
    • Responsible for data management, pre, during and post events, ensuring all delegates are added to our CRM system
    • Think creatively to develop all business offerings
    • Liaise with ‘Business Members’ to create Trade Villages at CPSA Championships
    • Grow the ‘CPSA Business Club’, working to strengthen existing partnerships and introduce and develop new ones.

    Your experience will include:
    • Extremely well-organised with the ability to multi-task – you’ll need to be able to juggle many projects or tasks at once
    • Proven experience in writing and maintaining event project plans and managing an event from start to finish
    • Clear understanding of how industry events / exhibitions run and operate.
    • Experience of using email and DM, or other channels, to drive awareness of events and deliver good attendee numbers of the right quality
    • Copywriting skills, with proven past experience of using content management systems and email software
    • Being creative in problem solving situations
    • Excellent verbal communication skills
    • Experience in social media content development and channel management, including advertising campaigns (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn)
    • Exceptional attention to detail and marketing planning skills

    Qualifications & Experience
    • Minimum GCSE standard education, diploma qualification or above preferred (level CIM/IDM)
