As the governing body for the sport of tennis in Scotland, Tennis Scotland has recently restructured and is currently developing an ambitious strategic plan to ensure a strong, sustainable legacy from the current high profile of the sport in Scotland due, largely, to the ‘Murray Effect’.
We now seek to appoint a new CEO to deliver our strategic plan, with a clear focus on continued growth and increased participation at all performance levels.
With our organisation undergoing major change and modernisation, the challenge ahead for the new CEO will be to lead change through the introduction of improved processes, clear communication, and ’empowerment’ of the Scottish tennis community. While leading the day to day delivery of tennis in Scotland, the new CEO will also ensure the tennis community is galvanized into a one plan for Scotland approach to ensure delivery of ambitious targets.
The embracing of digital technologies will also be key – to appeal to a wider and more diverse audience, including disadvantaged groups.
Our ambitious strategy will seek to enhance our existing infrastructure as well as establish new opportunities within clubs, facilities, competitions and programmes. Establishing ways of increasing participation in its various forms, as well as developing the workforce, are key constituent parts of the plan ahead along with clear pathways for players and coaches at all levels.
Tennis Scotland is also a “business” requiring the new CEO to attract greater levels of support from all key partners including the commercial sector to increase investment, to build strategic partnerships, support our Board Strategy, and to develop impassioned teams who work hand in hand with the clubs to deliver this new and exciting vision.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in sport and business and be a highly visible board level business leader who can demonstrate transformational change both culturally and commercially. He/she will possess the intellect, courage and outstanding communication skills to both define and passionately articulate the future vision and to inject the same passion for change to key stakeholders, clubs, coaches and sponsors. A person of absolute integrity with a strong background or affinity for the game of tennis in Scotland, as well as the vibrancy, passion and modern thinking to deliver progress, will be critical.
Closing Date: Friday 19th August 2016
Interviews will be held in Scotland in early September.
